Budget Travels: Burot Beach (Calatagan, Batangas)

Located at the edge of Calatagan, Batangas, Burot Beach is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. It's 3 hours away from Makati, a great encouragement to just pack your things and go.

The beach is private property but It's still open to the public as of this posting.

HOW TO GET THERE:

Important Reminder: Bring food and water. (DUH)

There is only one sari-sari store and they do sell food. But save your stomach from hunger and your pocket from bleeding and bring food.

Only one comfort room each for the ladies and gents. Water is hotter than the beach itself. You've been warned!

Do not be deterred by your expectations of a white sand paradise. Take a plunge, explore and see what Burot has to offer. There are like 3 mini beaches, the first is the one you'll see when you enter, the second when you walk a bit and see there are more rocks there.

The third one had a bigger shore but looked like it'd seen a party. Bottles and wrappers strewn everywhere. Let's be responsible beach goers and clean up. There are mangroves and lots of trees for shade, finer sands, let's not waste it.

This is is the farthest point (that I can get to). There were rocks with sharp edges, so be careful. But it's worth it, to see the calming waves and blue waters makes me feel at peace. Might find this at a bit secluded area, but life's an adventure. Go for it!

 Have fun!
