JAPAN: How to get a Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (for Filipinos)

Recently, there are rumours circulating the PH web that travel to Japan is now visa free. Sad to say, it will stay as a clickbait because visa policies will not change any time soon.

However, the Government of Japan has relaxed on the requirements for visa processing. It's now easier for Filipinos to get a Multiple Entry Tourist Visa.

Application can only be done through accredited agencies but I've found out there are other travel agencies who can and they charge a hefty sum.

We choose Discovery tours from the list of agencies. To our surprise they only charge P800 /person! and on top of that, processing only take 5 working days. They're also conveniently located in Makati.

Here are the requirements that I passed:

1. Philippine Passport
2. NSO Birth Certificate (Valid 1 year)
3. Application Form
4. Letter of Guarantee*
5. Schedule of Stay

REDUCE COPY OF DOCUMENTS TO A4.

The letter of guarantee is necessary since my dad will be the one to pay for my expenses, otherwise I will have to prove my financial capability through Bank Certificates, ITR, COE and such.

We thought we were applying for single entry tourist visa. I was a bit nervous of my status as student and being over the age of a minor. We only had 3 weeks left before our flight when we applied and in some instances, the embassy requires additional documents. This would put us in a bind.

But after a week, we got our passport back with a shock. Our family received multiple entry tourist visa(s). Yey!

THINGS TO REMEMBER:
1. This does not guarantee that your application will be successful.
2. Do not book your flight before getting your visa. (unless you're that confident)
3. Don't forget to pass all the requirements.
4. Request your NSO immediately or go to Serbilis center (s) for 1 day processing.
5. Additional documents to prove your financial capability is a MUST.
6.  DO NOT LEAVE BLANKS IN YOUR APPLICATION.
7. REDUCE COPY OF DOCUMENTS TO A4.
