Quick Getaways: RAVE of Pasig

Want to unwind without having to leave the comforts of the city? This is the perfect place for you. RAVE is located in the heart of Pasig City, just a few minutes away from C5 and EDSA. It's a great place to forget the stress of work or school even just for a while.

Who would have guessed that there's a water park close to you? Even one that's more than just a resort but also a zoo, extreme sports park, amphitheater, flower garden, all in Metro Manila.

There's a saying "Kapag-inulan ung birthday mo, mas bubuhos ang blessings" when it rains on your birthday, you'll be more blessed. We'll it did rain on that day, actual water droplets that is. So we celebrated my best friend's 21st birthday drenched without getting in the pool.

We don't know if it's fate or the weather playing a trick on us but I guess there's always a silver lining. There weren't a lot of people when we got there so it didn't seem like a typical public packed water park.

Staying in a cottage costed us Php 500. There are electric outlets so you can charge your gadgets or use a fan or rice cooker.

Waterpark Pavilion

1st 3 Hours - 2,000.00Php
Per succeeding hour/s - 500.00Php

There aren't strict rules stating you should wear swimsuits. As long as your swimwear doesn't have fibre that can possibly clog the drainage or too bright fabrics that can mix color with the water, you're good to go.

We didn't get to use the slide because maintenance was on going. The other adult pool was also closed.

Happy 21st Birthday Jen!

Trying to take photos with terrible lighting, rain still drizzled while swimming.

Here's my attempt at balloon pictorials which was so funny, I failed to look sweet.

In addition to the two adult pools, there are also two pools for kids and a mini olympic-sized pool with a diving board.

There's also the rapids surrounding the mini olympic-pool, also closed that day because it's new and there weren't a lot of people plus the rain.

HOW TO GET THERE:

RAVE is beside Pasig Science High school.

Public:

From Ayala, Makati - ride a UV Express Shuttle at Valero going Ever, Junction, Tikling, Antipolo, and of this can take you to Floodway. At floodway ride a tricycle going to Legaspi Bridge. Alight at legaspi bridge and walk to the other side.

Private:

From C5 - take C. Raymundo Ave to Francisco Legaspi

Despite the minor setbacks that day (no rice, rained, had to walk in the rain), the experience was still a lot of fun. Something that took my mind away from graduation and all its stress.

Oh have I told you yet? RAVE was actually Pasig Rainforest Park.

Have fun!
